Chinese Weight Loss Tea
All The Tea In China
Tea drinking in China is a time honoured tradition that has been happening for many centuries. It was first drunk for its medicinal properties prior to becoming just a refreshment. Even so, the evidence both historic and modern that some teas have great benefits cannot be ignored.
The is a great deal of evidence that suggests regular drinking of Chinese teas can help with weight loss by boosting fat digestion and the burning off of calories.
Science has shown us that Chinese tea greatly improves the metabolic rate making it quicker to burn off calories and fat. The polyphenols in the tea react with the norepinephedrine in the body, causing the calories to be burnt quicker.
Such evidence has lead to Chinese diet teas becoming increasingly popular with modern society, and they are more widely available than ever before. The majority of Chinese teas commercially available are aimed at the weight loss market.
Teas can be classified ie. Black, green, white, red, oolong etc
Black tea is the most oxidized variety. It contains most caffeine and is stronger in taste than all the others. It has good antioxidant powers. Green tea gets its colour because it is fermented in a different way. It is healthier than black tea as less nutrients are destroyed during the production process. Consequently it has far greater antioxidant powers and encourages the oxidation of fat molecules in the body.
Red tea is made from the oxidized leaves of the Asphalathis Linearis plant. It is caffeine free and can help eleviate insomnia, irritability, hypertension and headaches. White tea is made from young buds and is very high in polyphenols. It helps lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels and boosts the immune system.
Oolong tea goes through the longest fermentation process as the leaves are crushed to release their natural oils. Rich in polyphenols, it is widely used for weight loss with many believing it is even more effective than green tea.
